Ask about senior moving help

The person moving stays in charge
The item list is the heart of the plan. A typed or handwritten room-by-room list — packed boxes, furniture, priority pieces, and anything staying behind — defines the work better than a last-minute walkthrough. The older adult, or the family member helping them, approves the list and decides what goes where.
Priority furniture and boxes usually include the bed, a favorite chair, and everyday items; mark those so the crew knows what lands first. Medications, documents, keys, and a phone stay in a separate essentials bag with the older adult or coordinator — not in a moving box.
One coordinator for the crew
The crew works best with one person who can answer questions and approve placement. That person can be in the same room or in another city — a phone number is enough. A residence contact can also help with building access, move-in paperwork, and elevator reservations.
When you set up the request, name who should receive follow-up questions and who may approve placement decisions on move day. If the older adult wants to answer the questions personally, that works too — just say so in the request.

First-room setup
A senior move does not need to unpack the whole house on day one. The practical goal is a usable first night: the crew can place the bed and bedding, set up a chair and side table, and move the priority boxes to the right room.
Full packing help is available separately through packing and unpacking services — before the move, so boxes arrive labeled by room.
Physical moving, not care or medical tasks
Senior moving help covers the hands-on part of the move: carrying packed boxes, moving furniture, and placing items according to room labels or a short placement list. It does not include caregiving, medication, bathing, dressing, or medical tasks.
Those needs shape the plan — for example, a slower room-by-room flow or scheduled breaks — but the crew is there for the move itself. If the older adult will be present on move day, say so in the request so the pace is set in advance instead of discovered on the day.

Rooms, furniture, access, and the move-day contact
The estimate starts with decisions the household has already made: one primary contact, a room-by-room item list, access notes — parking, walk distance, gates, stairs, elevators, front-desk rules — preferred timing, and a note about pacing.
Transportation depends on the service: full local moving comes with our truck and driver, while a labor-only crew works with your vehicle or container. The written estimate spells out the crew, hourly or flat rate, minimum time, travel charge, and approved add-ons. Read it over with the coordinator and ask about anything missing.
Request a senior moving estimate
Leave your first name, last name, email, and phone number. A coordinator calls you back to plan the move at your pace and check available dates.
Frequently asked questions
Can a family member coordinate the move from another city?
Yes. Name one coordinator and give the crew that phone number. Everything else — the item list, access notes, placement preferences — can be gathered by phone or email. If the residence also has a contact, include them for building access.
Do you provide caregiving or medical help?
No. The crew handles physical moving only. Care tasks such as medication, bathing, and dressing are separate and should be arranged with the appropriate provider. Those needs can shape the plan — a slower pace, scheduled breaks — but the crew is there for the move itself.
How much gets set up on move day?
A realistic senior move sets up the first night: the bed, a chair, priority boxes, and the path to the bathroom. Deeper unpacking into cabinets is confirmed case by case — say what you want when you request the estimate.
Do you offer a senior discount?
Yes. Ask your coordinator when you book — senior, veteran, and military discounts are written into the estimate before the move, not added after the job.
