The building checklist for your request
A fourth-floor walk-up and a twelve-floor tower with one elevator are different jobs even with identical furniture. Plan the route from your unit to the curb at both buildings:
- Which elevator is closest to your unit, and is it large enough for your largest piece?
- Do stairs, landings, and doorways fit a sofa or dresser?
- Is there a service entrance, freight elevator, or designated loading area?
- How far is the truck or container from the entrance, and where can it park?
- Does the building require a move-in window, elevator reservation, deposit, or paperwork?
Property managers set those rules — missing a booking window or a parking rule can delay move day, so confirm them early and pass them along with the request.
Apartment-sized inventory, listed clearly
Apartment moves are usually a manageable list: a bed, a sofa, a dresser, a desk, a TV stand, and boxes. The estimate gets sharper when you name each item and note what is heavy, oversized, or needs to come apart.
For example: a queen bed frame and mattress, a sectional sofa (measure the doorways), an 83-inch TV in its original box, twelve medium boxes and six small ones. You do not need exact dimensions for everything — flag the pieces you already know are tight and we will ask the right follow-up questions.

Transportation and confirmation
Apartment and condo moves run full-service with our truck and driver, or labor-only with your rental truck or container. State your setup when you send the request.
The written quote identifies the crew size and separates the base charge, the minimum time, travel, and added work — so you can see exactly what you are approving before the date goes on the schedule.
Plan the route at both buildings
Building rules are set by the property manager or condo board, so check both sides before the date. Walk the path from the unit to the loading area, or get accurate details from the manager. The goal is an estimate that matches the real conditions: elevator size, staircase width, hallway turns, and the distance from the entrance to the loading area.
- Confirm move windows and whether the elevator must be reserved
- Measure elevator depth and doorway width if large furniture is involved
- Check service entrances, gates, and security check-in
- Ask about building paperwork or deposits and mention them in the request
- Save the property manager’s name and number for moving day

Frequently asked questions
Do you book the elevator, or do I?
Building reservations are handled by the resident or their contact — property managers usually require the tenant to book the elevator and the move window. We plan the route around the window you give us. Ask your manager how far ahead reservations must be made, and pass the details along with your request.
Can you move me from a walk-up to a high-rise?
Yes, as long as the access details at both buildings are clear. A walk-up means stairs and doorways; a high-rise means elevators, lobby routes, and building rules. Include both routes in your estimate request so the plan matches the work.
What if my building needs a certificate of insurance?
Ask the property manager what the building requires and mention it with your request. COIs, elevator pads, floor protection, and move windows all get folded into the confirmed plan — it is much easier to solve on paper than in the lobby.
